New Small Animal Initial Exams are for any animal not previously seen by Beastly Body Alignment. New Small Animal Initial Exams require assessment of the complaint &/or justification by a veterinarian prior to assessment and treatment by Beastly Body Alignment. The owner/caretaker and veterinarian must complete the veterinary approval form prior to appointment. New Small Animal Initial Exams include a review of health records from veterinarian, detailed history, examination, biomechanical analysis, and adjustment.
-
Established Small Animal Exams are for established small animal clients with a new complaint or small animals who have not been treated by Beastly Body Alignment in 6 months or longer. This requires assessment of assessment of the complaint &/or justification by a veterinarian prior to assessment and treatment by Beastly Body Alignment. Established Small Animal Exams include updates to health records and history, re-examination, re-assessment of biomechanics, and adjustment.
-
After assessing for abnormal or decreased motion in the animal’s joints, a quick, specific, and gentle force (either manually or via an adjusting instrument) is applied to encourage normal biomechanics previously guarded by swelling, pain, or muscle spasm. Normal biomechanics decrease overall inflammation and pain with a reduction in potential injury or encouragement of healing the current injury. If the animal has a chronic musculoskeletal condition, is a working animal, or regularly competes in sporting activities, adjustments may be part of the animal’s long term maintenance care. Manual therapy services are included in the price of manipulation, as is the standard with human patients throughout the chiropractic field.
-
Manual therapy and rehabilitation techniques may include a variety of soft tissue or muscle release work, targeted stretching, proprioceptive rehabilitation, and owner/caretaker education on continuation of exercises.
-
One session of 808nm/300mW--Class 3B “cold” laser application to promote healing and reduce inflammation.
-
Performance and/or conformation analyses include gait analysis, viewing of biomechanics during sport, equipment fittings, and assessment of the animal’s conformation with regards to the animal’s use. You will receive a detailed document with photos and all findings.
-
Proper fitting harnesses and equipment are essential for your animal's ability to enjoy walks or perform tasks. Equipment for small animals include harnesses (for walking/exercise or car security) and muzzles. An incorrectly fit harness can do a lot of damage both physically and behaviorally. Overuse soft tissue injuries due to abnormal pressures or compensatory muscle overuse from using an unnatural gait or being restricted are all possibilities with improperly fitting equipment.
