I have always had a love for animals: large and small. As a child, we had animals in our home and in the summers, I spent many an hour at horse stables learning to ride. It was my love for animals that initially led me to believe I wanted to be a veterinarian. After having my own dog in college, I quickly realized that I would have a really hard time operating on and treating other’s animals. During my anatomy and physiology courses at Texas A&M University, I became fascinated with biomechanics and the way the body, in every species, is perfectly engineered and developed to move. This new interest in combination with my history of participating in sports, sports injuries, and dealing with a lifetime chronic illness made it clear that chiropractic medicine was my True North. In December 2020, I received my Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine.

After losing my dog, Echo, to splenic stromal sarcoma, I wanted to know about anything and everything I could have done to help her and ease her pain. This led me to research alternative pain management for animals and the incredible animal chiropractic program at Parker University. This intensive and diverse program provides vast knowledge about zoonotic disease, anatomy, physiology, pathology, biomechanics, manual therapies, and skeletal manipulative therapy techniques in accordance with the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association, of which I am now certified.
